Ella’s Room

Ella Grace, Age 5
Our newest addition is the cute little foot rest/step from Euro Trash
The picture in the middle is an old painting that my grandma gave me
when I was about 5.  I’ve had it packed away & thought it was outdated
but I love it paired with the funky little postcard I brought back from Paris
& the little bird from Pottery Barn.
A painting of her name made by someone special.  The  glass lamp
was my grandmother’s & has been updated with
a shade from Shabby Chic.  And a little flower fairy painting, that
I brought back from England, sitting on the night-stand is waiting
to be framed.
These are some of our favorite books!

Our little fairy that adorns the chandelier
Ella & Luke, aren’t they cute?!!!

This is my sweet Ella, who is starting Kindergarten in a couple of weeks (sigh) and her room.   As you can see we started out very Pottery Barn Kids (I admit I am mannequin & catalogue room shopper…you know when you see the whole thing put together you just copy it).  But I have been trying break away from that & add our own little touches and special little things.  It is far from perfect in set up, style and the like but it is warm and cozy with little pieces that having meaning and make it quite magical.

I have been an avid follower of La La Lovely since you started blogging! Your daughter’s bedroom is precious. Very age-and-girly appropriate. I dare NOT show it to my daughter – she will insist on redecorating.

Thanks, MMW. I appreciate the support and the kind comments. It’s amazing how even little girls love to decorate!

Oh your babies are just beautiful! What a darling little girls room…. I can only imagine how much fun it was decorating it… as I have 2 boys and no pink! Another thing that also stood out in your photos (besides your angels) was the greenery outside the window! We are in drought at the moment and I haven’t seen that sort of green in a very long time! So lush and beautiful. A-M xx

What a very lovely room you have created for your sweet Ella. I would love to see the ballet shoes over the headboard and to hang some ballet shoes or some sort of tulle skirt there too. Perhaps painting the frame a white or antique white will give it that “euro trash” feel.
Letters spelling her name or “dream” or a french word over the bed would be sweet too -like “ooh la la” Those are found in a catalogue, but of course you know that already! :)
I danced for 13 years and that room makes me want to do a “pirouette!”

Patricia-Thanks for all of the wonderful suggestions. I have thought about painting the frame white but just haven’t finalized my decision on it. It would be cute! And the ballet slippers/tulle is a lovely idea. I’m so glad to inspire you to want to dance!
