Gray Matters

I know it would appear that all I have been writing about is gray lately, which is somewhat true. Yesterday I painted my desk gray, hoping to get it to look like the one in the picture above and well, it looks nice but I picked out a gray that is a lot lighter.  Apparently, even after looking at paint colors, what seems to be like all summer long, I still do not have a knack for picking out colors that match the photos I find.  Oh well, I suppose I have learned a few things a long the way.
I love all of these gray items from Shabby Chic.  They have some lovely new stuff over at their site.
Although I have gray on the brain I hope you all have a bright and cheery Monday.  And as for me,  I will try to wean myself off the gray.

As an artist I can tell you these pieces have been wiped down with a raw umber glaze after being painted gray. It gives them a darker and older look. Don’t let the brush strokes show, almost wipe it all off and you’ll have the “look”!!

Gray is so the thing right now, and I love it too! We just did a kitchen with grayish white cabinets with a gray/blue glaze and it looked amazing! Love it!

I’m sure your desk looks great!

Thank you all for the nice comments.. I’m glad I’m not alone on this mild gray obsession that I have.

    Scanda-gray-vian – quite clever… love it.

Melissa- do you have a link to these pretty cabinets?

Kia – thanks for stopping by. It’s sound like you are you busy.. I have one 2 year old boy so I can only imagine two.. but what a blessing to have twins!

Wonderful round-up of gray pieces, Trina. There’s just something so warm and comforting about gray, and it really does look great with all the white in these photos.

Beautiful post. I am loving gray lately. Had my office painted a pale gray and think I’m going to buy a gray suit I’ve been contemplating. Move over black!
