{images from The Shabby Chic Home}
Today I am loving these images from the Shabby Chic Home book by Rachel Ashwell. I think if my dishwasher were full of beauties like the above, unloading would be rather enjoyable.
The second image is from a nightstand in Rachel’s guest house. Although the cup looks like something my grandma might have owned and I would easily overlook, I’m actually quite fond of it and wanting one of my own. Its gorgeous in a grouping like above and a great reminder of a truth I have come to know.
This week is a busy one for me – Garage Sale – and that’s all I’ll say about that. So if my posts are neither here or there you now know why.

My dishwasher sure doesn’t look like that! Such beautiful images, I can’t wait to have a look at her book.

i’ve been poring over that book for the past month, just gaining heaps of inspiration from miss ashwell too!
i like the fact that while she loves those china in her dishwasher, she doesn’t let them become too precious (aren’t you not supposed to put anything gilded in the dishwasher??) :)

Thanks, Vicki! Oh, I love your book! My mom bought it as a present for me after I returned from Paris. When I get itchy for France I sit down with a cup of tea and dream away!

Drey- I know I think, I could just keep studying the same picture over and over. Well, that is what I thought too, about the dishwasher. I definitely know they can’t go in the microwave. I’ve tried that before and sparks went flying!!!!!
Does anyone know if it is bad to put china in the dishwasher?

I have loved RA’s Shabby Chic for as long as I can remember. Who would have thought a dishwasher picture could be so pretty! A-M xx

Nostalgia, fond memories of my neighbor serving me tea on similar china. Certainly elevates doing the dirty dishes!

Such a lovely dishwasher! Mine usually does not look this good. My mother has a 'special'set of gilded china & I can hardly remember it being used because you have to wash by hand. The gilding will wear off in a dishwasher but I love the fact that RA is not too precious about her china & get the impression from reading one of her earlier books that she puts hers in the dishwasher.
