Rainy Day for Renegade

{Jess & a blue door . . .because I like blue doors}

{My fabulous find at Shabby Chic : a map of Paris for only $12!!!}
{Renegade Purchase : Monogram print by Jen Skelley}
{My other Renegade purchase : some fun magnets by DeadBird}
Well I made it to the Renegade Craft Fair, kind of.  Jessica (my good friend pictured above) and I keep coming up with these design:decor adventures and Sunday we decided we were going to check out the Renegade Craft Fair and then while we were in the city we might as well visit Shabby Chic (Jess had never been) and then stop at one of our favorites, The Painted Lady.  And we thought, to be safe, we ought to take my husbands huge work truck because what, if by chance, we might buy something that needs to be toted back (after all, my garage sale money was just burning a hole in my pocket)?
Unfortunately, it was pouring down rain.  We felt we should still check out the craft fair just to be fair (that was the original intent of our trip).  We didn’t last very long because it was raining so hard.  We made it for lunch at the Bourgeois Pig (if you are ever visiting Chicago, this is a fab place for lunch).  And we made it to Shabby Chic . . . in the rain, in the truck, without a GPS and even a pretty awesome parallel park job with the monster truck, If I do say so myself.  We saved the Painted Lady for last as we were hoping to maybe get something BIG there (we brought sheets, plastic tarps and all sorts of get up for the possible purchase in accordance with the crazy rain and the massive truck) after getting somewhat detoured thanks to Google maps on my phone we made it BUT as we pulled up the store looked very dark, which was not good… It was CLOSED!!!!!  Unfortunately, due to flooding in the area.  It was a sad sad moment.
As for me I never want to drive that truck again but somehow I’m sure I’ll muster the strength as we are already trying to conspire a rain date (hubby willing)!
More of our adventures to come & a Most Happy Weekend to you all!
