And the Winner Is . . .

The LOVELY  . . .

Belinda Graham of Renovate & Decorate

Again I want to thank everyone for participating as this has been so much fun.  I have to say that you all gave such wonderful ideas that I was really struggling to narrow it down to 3 for the drawing.  I saw a lot of similar ideas, each with it’s own twist, which gave me confidence on some things I have been trying to decide, such as, should I paint the mantle, white, the same color as the fireplace (which several of you suggested).  I wish I could send you all a poster.  If my wallet would allow, I surely would.  I sincerely appreciate all of the time and thoughtfulness you all put in this little project.  Merci Beaucoup!

Here are a few ideas that I love & am pretty sure I will incorporate:
-Round or different shaped mirror over the fireplace or perhaps layer mirrors
-Round basket or tub to hold wood on the lower step of the fireplace
-Either painting the fireplace screen or going with a new one (Love the one Callie suggested)
-A collage over the couch
-Books books books and more books on the shelves.  You all sent some great bookshelf pictures
Well, I’m always slow to getting around to things so it will probably take me awhile to getting all of the changes made. But I do plan to work on this in stages and promise to post some pictures and will of course welcome any feedback.  So keep an eye out!
A few last questions after reading all of your suggestions . . .
1.  In trying to keep with a round or different shaped mirror to break up the straight lines of the fireplace.. do you think a round or oval shaped Venetian Mirror would work?  Or would that be too ornate?
2.  Has anyone seen any great boxes/baskets that would look right on my shelves?  (The shelves are actually a gray with a tinge of greenish and brown coming through.. I am going to slightly sand them so they look aged).
Stay Tuned for more FUN Giveaways!

P.S.  Belinda, please e-mail me with all of your information and the poster of your choice!

oh hurrah! How excitement! I actually feel kinda bad winning as I mainly entered because I love making decor suggestions – cause, you know, I have sooo much wisdom to share. HA! But I’m thrilled to have been in the top three and even more thrilled luck was on my side for the drawing so certainly won’t turn it down! love Jennifer’s work and think a LOVE poster would be perfect for my daughter. Thanks heaps Trina, it’s been fun!! bx

crate and barrel and world market both have a large array of baskets for a good price. if you want something to modern it up a bit you could also go with canvas boxes from west elm. this was too fun, thanks!

I agree with chris. It’s a relatively inexpensive way of getting some decorating suggestions from like-minded people. Great idea.

    Congratulations Belinda!
