Repeat

The computer is going off and I’m going to have a cup of tea, vanilla  comoro tea to be exact and watch You’ve Got Mail.  It is just one of those movies I watch over and over.  I know it is not the greatest movie in the world but it is just relaxing to me.  I love Kathleen Kelly’s apartment, I always liked her clothes (though a little outdated now), I adore her cute little store, the music is fun, the banter between her and Tom Hanks is cute and then New York in the fall and that is enough for me.
What movie do you watch over and over again?  Sometimes I can just watch a movie for the clothes and decor, are you like that too?

    First time comment here :)
The movie I watch over and over again is “The Holiday” with Cameron Diaz and all those wonderful actors. I love Kate Winslet’s cottage in England cause it looks so cozy and Cameron Diaz’s home in L.A. because I would love my home to look like that! Also, Cameron Diaz looks so cute in that movie in whatever she’s wearing.

I love to watch You’ve Got Mail over and over again… along with Sleepless in Seattle and When Harry Met Sally… yes… I am a Meg Ryan fan… those are my 3 favorites.
I think her clothes are pretty bsic, classic… you could probably get away with her clothing… the same with the music… it works in many eras!
Thanks for bringing a smile to my face!

Oh yes – I am a great re watcher of the favourites.
Notting Hill is a big hit with me as is The Devil Wears Prada and off course, As Good as it Gets and Somethings Gotta Give.
But my most loved re watch is the BBC television series (I know not technically a movie) is Brideshead Revisited – the most wonderful sets, acting and costumes ever. (the new film is not a patch) I am going to turn it on again this winter. xv

I love anything with Meg Ryan in it or Hugh Grant for that matter. The one I have watched over and over again is Beaches. I dont know I still love that film as old as it is now. Sometimes its just nice to kick back and relax. I do not like films that make me think too much to be honest. And I love a happy ending!

Love that movie too! I have several movies I can watch over and over again. Among them are: “Sleepless in Seattle” (Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan),
“Steelmagnolias” (Darryl Hannah, Dolly Parton, Shirley MacClaine, Julia Roberts, Sally Field),
“Stepmom” (Susan Sarandon and Julia Roberts), “Cat on a hot tin roof” (Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman), “The mirror has two faces” (Barbra Streisand and Jeff Bridges), “The birdcage” (Robin Williams and Nathan Lane) well, the list is long. But I choose movie after how I feel at that moment.

Of course, anytime is a great time for “It’s a wonderful life”–my most favorite movie of all time and yes, I always cry at the end no matter what the count is on seeing it. But, I also LOVE Nicholas Cage and Bridget Fonda in “It Could Happen To you”.

    Sliding Doors
    Le Divorce
    About A Boy
    Pride & Prejudice

I LOVE You’ve Got Mail, I’ve watched it many times. Also Sleepless in Seattle, Dirty Dancing, Love Actually and both Bridget Jones flicks. Oh and anything with either Helen Mirren or Al Pacino I could watch over and over as well.

Yes, I do this too! I even posted some about this after recently being tagged:

“5. I have certain movies I can watch over and over again for no particular reason. They’re not necessarily Oscar material, but for some reason I’m inexplicably drawn to them, and repeatedly, too. Some of these (many) repeat viewings have included Return To Me, Midnight Cowboy, Deliverance, Ugly Coyote, The Money Pit, Urban Cowboy, That Thing You Do!, The Godfather, and A League of Their Own.”

    So yes, I completely understand.

Chris – Midnight Cowboy is one of the best movies ever made. Why is it not on my list?

LLA – I was totally going to post on this. I have old movies going all the time for this reason – Sabrina, Barefoot in the Park (I love their apt.!), and other comfort movies including You’ve Got Mail!, Christmas in Connecticut (the original – I want that farmhouse), To Catch a Thief, my profile list is true…

There are so many movies that I love purely for the setting and style, such as Marie Antoinette, with Kirsten Dunst, and Finding Jane. I love the simplicity and beauty of historic period movies. I think we all crave the nostalgia that comes with immersing ourselves in the past.
