Africa

images from SouthAfrica.info
Tonight I baked cookies.  Basically just so I could eat the dough.  That is what you do when you are feeling a little down, right?  My sister is heading to Africa today.  She hasn’t boarded the plane yet but I am missing her already (thus the cookie dough overdose).  She is quite the world traveler so goodbyes are not new.  But Africa is so very far. Amy is going to be working with our organization, The Be:Good Foundation in Swaziland.  She is meeting our dear friend Christina (who has already arrived & is moving there for sometime… who has promised to send lots of inspiration for me to share with all of you) and they are going to be doing some amazing work over the next month.  Keep them in your prayers and I’m sure I’ll have an update of sorts.

aww don’t blame you for being upset! But just think of all the good she’ll be doing… And yes, I often make cakes just so I can leave half of it in the bowl and eat the batter!! Yum…

yeah, for your sister and christina! I remember when my hubby would leave months at at a time (missions) too. He has slowed down quite a bit since having babies though. Oh, and one of my favorite pieces of art came from Africa.

I can sympathize about being far away from your sister. Mine moved 2 years ago across the country and I’m still sad about it. But… it does make the visits mean so much more! I can’t wait to see what kinds of stories and pictures you’ll have to share!

I am very close to my little sister, too, so I can certainly relate. I will keep her in my prayers! Thanks for the sweet comment, Trina! Hope we can meet some day.

Safe journey for your sister, and big hugs to you since you are feeling a bit down with her going so far away.

I completely understand, my sister live in California (not as far as Africa, but far enough that i miss her terribly)

    I love that first image!!!
That would be perfect for a little girls room.
Oh, i haven’t forgotten about you and the kids room. I just have been really busy with work. I will try and think of inspiration this weekend.

    xx

Wow, what an adventure! I am hoping to go abroad to Tanzania and teach for my friends non-profit. Feels good to give back.

    Enjoying your blog!

I love people on a mission to help others. What an amazing mission for your sister to face. Hope she has a wonderful time. Hayley
