Books

Two great design books (now on my wish list)

How was your weekend?  We had a glorious 5 day weekend.  Thursday and Friday school was cancelled, not because of snow but because of the cold weather (about 30 below zero w/ wind chill).  Let’s see . . . over the past 5 days,  El & L and I were on the local news (very amusing), I saw three movies (Despereaux, The Bride Wars and Gran Torino.  Still wanting to see Benjamin Button and Slumdog Millionaire), finished a cleanse, said goodbye to a dear friend who is moving to Africa, and finished off today with a little shopping.
Which brings me to books . . .books and journals, to be exact.  I needed a new journal and was just sure that I was going to get the serious leather grown up looking ones from now on (in a pretty color, of course) but then I cam across this really pretty little Amy Butler journal at Anthro and could not pass it up.  And then after that I saw this most perfect colorful union jack journal in Borders and there was no way I could just leave it on the shelf (and since I had a gift card it was no bother).  Lastly, I stumbled upon The Gentle Art of Domesticity which looks very crafty, colorful and fun.  I’m sure I’ll be writing more about once I have a good look.

I especially love that Borders Union Jack journal. I am so jealous! I went to the borders here in Sydney (Australia) and they don’t stock it :(

Thank you for all of the lovely comments.. it is cold here.. but has warmed up to a lovely 20 degrees (ha).

Suburban prep- so glad you love the Jane Brockett
book.. I think it looks so up my alley!

Karabanana – That stinks about the journal. I know it is a product by Paperchase (which is an English company). I'll take a look around online & see if I can come up with anything but try searching out Paperchase.
