This and That

I couldn’t help myself after my post.  I packed up the kids and headed to IKEA.  We got the paper roll (see last post) and a chore jar (write chores on a piece of paper, put in jar and let kids draw for their chore ea. day) and so far this is all fun.  Hopefully the novelty won’t wear off.
And look what else I found. . .   This is really a shoe cabinet but I thought it would be great for each kid to have  small bin for anything that has to be taken to school or sports or whatever for the day.  A kiddie out box, if you will.  I have a very narrow space in my entry way/mudroom so this looked like it might be a great idea and only $99.  Change out the knobs and hang a cool vintagey mirror for a little juxtaposition and viola (has anyone used a mirror for a dry erase?  Wondering how well this works?)! I bought this mirror (hung horizontally) until I come across a cool old one.  BTW, the new IKEA catalog is out with some cool new things and even better prices.  And now…
A few more things to check out:
Simple Mom : An organizational mom blog my sister in law told me about.  Great downloads for lists and such if that is your thing.
Fiddlesticks : Sweet blog with a fabulous giveaway.  Click here for a chance to win a beautiful Tolani Scarf.  I’ve got my fingers crossed.  This prego girl could use a pretty accessory right about now.

I used mirrors as dry erase boards in college and law school. There is a little reflection but overall it works fine. If the marker doesn't rub off easily with a cloth, it always comes off with water. Never had a problem with it leaving permanent marks on the mirror.

I had mirrored closet doors in high school and wrote all my important phone numbers and stuff on there (much to my mom's annoyance). You might need some windex for a good removal, but it totally works.
