I have a hard time finishing things. I start them and I leave them. Sometimes I start one little thing and other times I almost finish something and find myself leaving just one thing undone.
Even right now, I should be finishing this post. But since I’ve been without internet for over a week I’m having a hard time containing myself from here to there. Focus. Focus.
This week I was planning on taking a blogging break {while the littles are on spring break} to have some fun and get a few things done. Namely, a photo wall. Years of fabulous pictures are hiding on my computer or stuffed in drawer. So far my plan hasn’t gone according to plan. But the first part of my plan is to buy a bunch of frames at IKEA and just hang them on the wall {like Paula did}. Then I’ll HAVE to fill them with pictures. Hopefully, I can at least get to IKEA {without kids would be so dreamy but I just might be desperate enough to drag them….someone stop me now} this week.
QuEsTiOn {s} : When doing a photo wall do you think the frames should be all one color or mixed up? And do you think the photos should all be black & white or all color or a big mix up? Let me know if you have seen any spectacular photo walls/collages lately!

I think the frames should be similar shades and black and white……. Going with the similar shades you have to be very very careful…. to not look tooo busy….
Good luck…… esp ikea with the kiddies..

All the same color frames, and black & white photos get my vote. I once had all the same color frames and colored photo's. To busy! I changed them to bl.& Wh. And I love it when they are matted in different size mats that are all the same color! You have such wonderful photos! Your wall will be spectacular!!

Trina I have a collage going up our stairs and I used similar colored frames but all different sizes and styles. The photos are both color and black and white which I think is fun! Maybe I'll add a photo for you on my blog this week :) Have fun!

In my own humble opinion, I think that it doesn't matter if the frames are the same style as long as they are all the same color. And, personally, I think that sticking with black and white photos keeps it all in check, looking chic and clean.

Hmmm….similarity is a good thing. Pick similar colors and similar shapes or similar matting and I would think it would look great!

I love color so I say different color frames and either black and white or color images. Have fun with it they are your memories ya know. Maybe pick frames based on the memory. Have fun making your photo wall.

I think the more you mix it up, the better. It makes it that much more interesting to have a mix of unique frames. I love your blog. I am now following! XO

we have some pretty good photo walls. huge cropped photos of fat little faces all in varying degrees of black frames and thick white matting. like, double thick.
my smallest size is 8 by 10.
i'll take some pics and show you. it's so easy and people gasp when they walk in the house. big impact, little effort. xoxoxoxoxox!

I like the stair railing in the first pic…been looking for inspiration that is a great pic, thank u!
I have a wall of mixed art…but I am not crazy about it anymore…may change it up. I think it's ok to have different color frames – like wood, black and some gold. I would use thin frames though..just a thought.
