What’s Cooking

I’ve always been intrigued by the British Aga (cooker oven). It looks like quite a mysterious thing. One I don’t know much about yet strangely want Well, my sister told me something about warming a sheep and turtle back to life in an Aga or something of the sort. I don’t know about these things but apparently she does. (update: I watched videos on how the Aga works on you tube, very interesting).

And all this talk about ovens is really to tell you that I’m quite the oven myself lately. I’ve been busy baking another baby (which is why my posting and replying has been here and there and no where). I’m almost done with my first trimester. This is new territory for me as my youngest, Liam Brave, is scant a year old (next week). I’ve never had two so close and 3 + 1 = 4! 4 littles! Maybe I’m a little crazy? I’m excited and a little nervous if I think about it too much but then I think about Meg and Design Mom and think I can do this and still be at least a little bit me.
Anyhow, I just wanted to let you all in on a little something that is happening in my life and now you’ll know why if I’m a little slow and slightly behind this explains it all. I will have regular posts. 3 for sure and hopefully 4 and on a good week the goal is 5. But don’t hold me to it. Baking babies is hard work.

oh congratulations what lovely news! I have two and my husband's mission is four but it feels a bit daunting to me so I can imagine how you feel! On the aga subject, I live in the UK and used one for a week in a holiday home in the Cotswolds and I fell in LOVE with it. It's such a comforting way of cooking. Look after you and baby!

Oh my goodness, Trina- sooooo happy and excited for you!!! 4 little ones is amazing (would so love another one myself but hubby is being a bit of downer on that one) I couldn't be more happy for you and don't even think twice about bloggy business- baking babies takes alot out of you, especially in the 1st Trimester!Massive hugs and congrats again- are you going to find out what you are having?? xoxo

Congratulations on your baby news :)
I agree, they're fantastic looking ovens. I have seen one in a shop in town and I know I could never afford it. They are hardly ever seen here where I live in Tasmania. Mostly old farm kitchens.

Oh, how exciting!! I'm one of four girls and there's nothing more fun than growing up in a big family. I've never cooked on an aga, but they are fabulous looking!!

Hello – wow I love this 'announcement' post – the link between ovens and babies! Love it. Many congratulations – lovely news! Lou xx
P.S. I adore agas – they are an institution and once you have one, I hear you never ever go back.

Thanks everyone! You are all so sweet…

And no one has a bad thing to say about an Aga.
Even if I never own one I'd love to see one in action or just give it a try.

    you can do it!!!
my third and fourth are 16 months apart.
the closest of all of them.
it was crazy but they are close and sweet and it was awesome. those two were the easiest babies i had.
    YOU CAN DO IT!
and still be YOU and still be MOM and still be WIFE.
and if you can't…then you can later…when the time is right.
we have to balance the right time to be US and to be MOM. but it always comes.
    CONGRATULATIONS! i am jealous!
