Reading Material

What a weekend. I won’t bore you with all the details BUT, Friday, I thought I was going to have this super fab day. Shopping with my mom and sister in the city, kid free, and an impromptu overnight at a swanky hotel and OH, also an impromptu bout of the flu. And we will just leave it at that.
Well, it’s Sunday and I’m not a 100% YET but, better. Still a lot to do for Christmas and this just kind of took my energy to a new low.
Are you done shopping? I have maybe one or two more things to order tomorrow and one more target run. But now I’m onto figuring out food. Regular old meals for the week, Christmas Eve at my house, what I need to bring to Christmas and OH Christmas cookies. I always do sugar cookies, magic cookie bars, Polish Jam Kolacky‘s and peanut butter blossom type cookies. What Christmas cookies do you make every year?
As much as I love looking at decor magazines, books and blogs and I am equally in love with a good cookbook and food blog. Perfectly photographed food is magnifique. And there is something so comforting and personal to me about reading recipes.
Somehow, from somewhere, I wondered upon the blog What Katie Ate? The blog is pure eye candy and in the literal sense. BUT….. there is also an online mag (gorgeous photos above from the current issue):
Sit down with some tea and of course a Christmas cookie and dig in.
And one more thing to read….if you’re stressing about it ALL . . .
Happy Christmas Week!
oh and maybe we should try these?

I love food blogs too…and I to am down to figuring out food. I am wiped from all the other, so I am not feeling very inspired…but as we have people coming in from out of town I better get out the cookbooks.
Glad you are feeling better. Off to check out the Tracey Porter.

Miz Nov- I know … I am def trying the Nutella cookies.. maybe not for Christmas and only because I already have too long a list but def maybe for New Years. Let me know how they are .. if you try them.

Pinecone-I know.. as much as I love food and really enjoy baking and cooking … the planning and shopping is just no fun to me. But it will get done! Have a lovely time with you're company.

How DO you do it all? Seriously! Fifteen varieties of cookies? I can barely eek out one, and by barely I mean my mom actual baked the sugar cookies we'll be decorating together on Thursday! I hope you're feeling better soon. You'll have to have a repeat of mom/daughter/sister day when you feel better. Those are too fun to pass over:) xx
