It’s been a L O N G couple of days for me . . .
I’ll start with something good. I finally finished my photo wall after about 9 months (should I be admitting that? NO!)!
Thursday was a really hard day for me. We had to say goodbye to our dog of, 12 1/2 years, Max. He was having so many problems, I won’t list, but I’m still wondering if we made the right decision. I keep hearing phantom barks and I can’t believe he is really gone for good. He took up so much of my time and energy and although it was grueling and it brought me to a bunch of bad words on a regular basis, I put up with and cleaned up the many many daily messes out of love. Our old guy went missing several times, while blind, out all night, in the cold and somehow we always got him home. And now, it’s just hard to believe that he won’t be coming back. Goodbye sweet Maxi! I’ll miss our walks!
Friday, I had a chocolate pavlova (What Katie Ate recipe, to be exact) made by my sweet Australian friend- talk about the real deal. All I can say is . . . heaven. Our friends hosted the loveliest dinner party and I felt pretty spoiled.
And oh, I got my hair done. I’m still working on that ombre look. I think the darker needs to come down a little lower. I wanted the ends to be a bit brighter for the contrast but I think it might be a little too much. To fix or just leave?
And here is to a new week and a fresh start of a day!

So sorry to hear about your Max.
Having had to do the same thing in October I can relate totally to the doubting – I shared this with our vet and she reassured me that he was being brave for us and that he was actually suffering quite a bit despite rallying.
I hope that you are able to find ways to celebrate all the joy that he would have brought to your lives over the years.
Big hug,
Felicity x

So so sorry about the loss of your pooch. I cannot comprehend how sad I would be to lose my furry kid.
I just saw a Choc Pavlova with salted caramel topping in a mag the other day and thought I might try it. Sounds very naughty.
As for your hair, it's lovely as it is!

FOR MAX:
The Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven
is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies
that has been especially close to someone here,
that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills
to all our friends
can run and play together.
It has plenty of food, water and sunshine,
and our friends are warm and comfortable. .
All animals
they were old and sick
restored to health and vigor;
Those who were hurt or maimed
are made whole and strong again,
exactly as in our memories
of times gone by.
The animals are happy and content,
except for one small thing;
each miss someone
very special, which had to be left behind.
They all run and play together,
but the day comes when one suddenly stops
and looks away. His bright eyes are intent;
his eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group,
flying over the green grass,
his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted,
and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion,
never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face;
your hands again caress the beloved head,
and you look once more into the eyes
confident of your pet, so long gone
of his life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross together the Rainbow Bridge ….
hugs from BRasil
ps-sorry for the very bad translation

Darling, So sorry for your loss. I know how you feel. We had to put our boxer down after 12 years. He was just pitiful. You did the right thing. Its still hard, though. And it will be for a long time.
Hugs to you.
p.s. Your hair looks great.

I'm watching the The Bachelor crying at your post. Something's wrong with that picture. Veronica's comments hit me. I'm looking at my little munchkin Ginger sleeping right now and can't even imagine the day I have to do that. My thoughts are with you. On a happy note, that dessert looks so yummy. I want to pour myself a glass of wine and stick my fork into that.

Hey Trina, I have been so busy I forgot about Max..bless your heart, I cant imagine all you are doing! I had to comment tho because I was just looking at Lauren Conrads hair last night and loving it. I have never been able to translate that to a hairdresser, but look at you, you knew the name of the style:)

RIP Max.
Wow, I can't imagine how hard wrenching that must be.
He's in doggy heaven now, though – A room full of extremely expensive sofas with signs saying sit/stand/rub yourself on me.
And PS I just came here (a long overdue visit!) then went straight to Anthro and bouoght that amazing necklace, despite the fact that the shipping to Australia cost as much as the necklace itself (grrrr)!

Thank you all for the super sweet kind words.
Yes, we had to put Max to sleep. He was 12 and it was a horribly hard decision for us.
I love what Louise said …"He's in doggy heaven now, though – A room full of extremely expensive sofas with signs saying sit/stand/rub yourself on me."
I feel so blessed to have all of you bloggy friends!
xo
ps- Jen – glad you're dog is ok… that is so scary
Lou -I'm glad I could provide a little shopping inspiration. That is crazy on the shipping but once you receive you'll forget all about it!
