Take a Seat

I’ve been wanting Ghost Chairs for forever.  I finally sold my dining room table and, ultimately, I’d love to get a fabulous old farmhouse table surrounded by Ghost Chairs.  I haven’t been so lucky on my table search thus far but I do have a somewhat farmhouse looking Z Gallerie table that I think I can use in the mean time.

I’ve seen the Ghost Chairs on E-bay for a pretty good deal and I’ve found these but think they might be knock offs? Have any of you purchased any Ghost Chairs?  Any advice?

I adore ghost chairs. I have a knock off one that I bought for $115 and I love it. The only difference is that there are seems where the plastic is joined together- the original is one solid piece. So my advice would be that if you wanted to have these be your forever chairs, go for the good ones. If you think you'll probably change them out in 5 years for something else, go for a knock off. Either way, I adore them and mixed with a farm table, perfection. That last one you pictured with the marble top is completely heavenly.

Wonderful plan! I've had my eye on the Ghost chair forever too! Just one makes a tremendous impact. They are pricey, though, as most lucite pieces seem to be.
I'm looking for a lucite console at the moment and have seen them from $329 to upwards of $2000. I'll take the knock-off, thank you :).

The Ghost chairs are wonderful and I would agree with Christine (above).

Or perhaps get a couple of 'real ones' (the ones with arm rests) and get the others in 'replica'..

    Best of luck.

I have been saving up for mine too! I found someone on Craigslist that had to (arm) chairs for $475! But, my girlfriend reminded me that the armless ones can fit more people around your table! (I am going to keep my black and white toile parsons at the head! I am actually thinking about getting the knockoffs because they look EXACTLY the same and cost WAY less! Good luck to you! LOVE those chairs!

we had them in my house growing up, and so the first thing i wanted for my home was one, too! if you can visit the ones on ebay (so maybe craigslist) i'd suggest that, because i've seen a lot of unhappy new yorkers wind up with scratched, gross ones that the owner didn't appreciate/take care of and thus the sale.
the knock-offs (which i think those are) are *not* as comfortable. you know how you can live in a ghost chair for hours and be totally comfy? the knock-offs won't get you through supper. they're not the right… something.

but! design out of reach (ahem, within reach) has a regular sale and i always get mine then. also ABC carpet + home had some in their faraway-discount-store-in-long-island-or-nj-or-someplace and you can always call and see if they have any in stock and can ship.
enjoy it… they are my FAVORITE things too, and i ream of a fancy old fashioned dining table surrounded by multi-colored ones!

the one at my desk right now, however, will always be right there at my desk. just can't live without it.

Love the idea of the ghost chairs with the farm table. Totally agree with Christine. If you're planning on keeping these for a while, then get the originals – you will never regret paying for quality.
