There is always a lot that awaits on the other side of today. Everything you have to do and will be doing back home calls your name and even the next day can be a pesty little pest inviting you to arrive early. My mind usually tends to take me there before I ever need to truly check in. I can get stuck thinking on what could be, would be and I instead want to just be. Be where I am . . . today. 100% in the moment. Trying to capture every smile, giggle, conversation and even little look. Soak up the sun, breathe in the fresh air and gaze at the beauty of the unchanging mountains. I hope to see today clearer than yesterday and even tomorrow.
How about you? Do you have any tricks or tips for staying in the moment? I hope your day is full of moments that are worth being all there. I hope you find the laugh, the smile and that little something that makes today a day you’ll never forget and tomorrow a day you have no problem waiting for.

Doing yoga is the one thing that keeps me in the moment. Yoga spills over into everything else you do in life. It is a constant reminder, in every situation, to breathe deep and live in the now.

Trina, this is such a beautiful post. I struggle with the same thing — a lot. As a grad student, we're always being asked to think about the future; it's really hard to just be sometimes. Tea helps me, as does meals with good friends. Something about eating with others helps me really slow down and just appreciate where I am.

yes…very thoughtful post…thanks…always good to be reminded of how important it is to be present…and centered…
i just had a blow out with my oldest daughter (she is 19)…and now i'm regretting a couple of things i said…they were truthful…but i didn't need to say them…wish i had stepped back first…
there is so much to celebrate in the ordinary…
thanks so much again for reminding me…!
