I’m pretty much sold on this little stump of a night stand / end table for quite some time
especially in a child’s room
I’ve been thinking & contemplating this exact combo (table & yellow lamp) for L’s room
two are twice as nice
and if you’re crafty or handy here is a DIY version

The stump is wonderful — I really like its ability to double as a night stand and a seat (and maybe even a step up to that top shelf of a bookcase).

This post breaks my heart, we had a lot of timber installed on the exterior of our new home and the framers tossed all of the scraps on 12×12 & 18×18 pieces that were left over, they would have been perfect for a easy DIY for my boys rooms, sigh.

Very fun for kids rooms although I love the alternative as well for a family room!

Oh my goodness you have found such wonderful pictures!
I love 'wood stumps' and think they are so versatile.
I've seen some that were sprayed in silver and gold, and they too looked so nice – a real edge to them.
Thanks for sharing.

I have stumps like these inter-mixed with our outdoor furniture. They look so whimsical amongst the wrought iron and colorful cushions; they are also great in the way they can be another seat or a table!

love! I have one on my porch. I managed to strip it now I have to sand a way. It's my springtime goal.
