Downtown Brown

*Photos snapped on my iPhone (not so great).   Thought I’d share a few belly shots & a
snap of my mom & sister / my mom & I.

Chicago was pretty great.  It always is.  I was able to see my sister’s place (which I plan to show you pictures of later this week)  She and her roomies were art majors and their place is colorful and interesting, like a museum filled with little vignettes scattered about.  I loved the new 2 story Anthro right off of Michigan Ave (if that is any surprise).  We saw Jane Eyre.  Mr. Rochester at his best, if you want to know.  My mom and I got stuck in an elevator.  If I told you the story you would laugh, but for 60 seconds we were so not laughing.  Sunday we had brunch at the Peninsula and it was a feast for the eyes and stomach (I took full advantage of eating for 2 . . .don’t judge).  And last but not least I have major buyers remorse over face cream.  You could say I went a little overboard with the beauty items (it’s my normal weakness, add 33 weeks pregnant, no clothes to buy and no luck with every pair of shoes that I liked and what is to be expected?).  I did however resist going in the Apple Store.  I was obsessing all weekend over an iPad, which is a first.  Maybe it was just the city buzz?

Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend!
I am so obsessing over the iPad2. Have you seen the new Martha Stewart magazine that will be online via iPad! Gorgeous is a start! completely gorgeous!

Being stuck in an elevator is no fun. I don't know what is worse you being pregnant in an elevator (from my sister I do know that powder your nose breaks are a must durning pregnancy with no warning) or me stuck in an elevator on a blind date for 2.5 hours with a man I wanted to get away from!! I had my phone to play video games and ignore man in the elevator, so I think you win!

did you go to the french cafe at the peninsula? they have wonderful macaroons!
    xx

Now that I have done the overnight-in-NYC thing I am dying to go to Chicago. Plus, I'm pretty sure Oprah wants to meet me, she just doesn't know it yet!

You look adorable and the photos are amazing…the goldy glitter is GREAT!

Callie – OMG … no doubt you had it worse.. first of all i'd be totally panicky after 2.5 hours. I mean I'd be panicky after 5 minutes…..and then being stuck with a blind date…..that is terrible… but what story to tell!
i haven't been in the French Cafe. I'm going to have to check it out next time for sure. And I didn't know about MS Mag. Another reason added to my list….
    xo

Beth – Chicago is fabulous.. way better than NY if you ask me, although I'm a little bias because I've grown up in the area…. The skyline is so pretty, it's cleaner. Gorgeous flowers and fabulous food! I wish Oprah wanted to me too! xo
