I’m not an avid coffee drinker. Serious drinkers would call me a lightweight. Decaf. Flavored. Not too strong. And I even re-heat (like the Lil Bee, who inspired this post today). I prefer Dunkin Donuts coffee over Starbucks. I use a Keurig. But I have to say I don’t really care that much for the coffee that the Keurig makes. I’d like one of these but I don’t like espresso. The past couple of days I’ve been going through the drive through at the local coffee shop for flavors like Carrot Cake (sounds really gross but it actually wasn’t). It’s just a small morning solace for sometimes (ok, maybe more than sometimes because I am no morning person) a bad start. Or perhaps, better worded, a hard start (getting 3 kids out the door with a giant belly in tow) by 7:45 is no easy feat. I know many of you feel this daily ache too (and sadly that brings me some comfort . . . I’m sorry).
And since I’m so caught up in just making it out the door with every one’s teeth brushed and hair combed (I did tell Ella that if her hair was messy it was ok, because it looks very cool on grown up French girls. I don’t know if she felt as persuaded as I now am on this matter. I suppose I would have had to have put her in a cropped leather jacket and some killer sunglasses to pull it off. The bright colored, flowered headband does not do the trick) I totally forgot about St. Patrick’s Day (not that I am huge into celebrating it. Usually it’s like . . . let’s eat Lucky Charms and color our eggs green, and get a Shamrock Shake, but this all works very well with the kids and my inner kiddiness too).
So in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. A Shamrock Shake. Which reminds me of all good things. Mainly, being a kid and not really having a care in the world. And that is the best feeling in the world. A feeling I wish I could find.
I then came across this commercial because to me Shamrock Shakes are old school. I don’t even remember this commercial. I’m thinking it was little bit before my time.
But I SO remember this commercial. I had it memorized. Hello . . . McDonald’s was ahead of the Rap Revolution.
And lastly (best for last) I came across this commercial. Which pretty much sums up the awesomeness that was the 80’s. And who can resist Jason Alexander. All I can say is a ENJOY!
So if you’ve maybe had a rough start this morning, like I did. I hope these little commercials at least gave you one giggle and by all means . . . please get yourself a Shamrock Shake (go for some fries while you’re at it) and eat some Lucky Charms (magically delicious, yes?). And a lucky rest of the day to you!
I just love these old commercials, so much fun!!! Thanks for the giggles and memories today. :)

I have been thinking about you lately! How are you feeling? Well–first of all, I'm so honored to be the inspiration for today's post! And, secondly, you are amazing to get all three kiddos out the door, big belly and all, and still have time for a post with several videos included! Lastly, I can't believe Jason Alexander was in that commercial–hysterical!
Have a great rest of the day:) xxoome

I am a terrible morning person myself. I don't know how you muster up the energy to do what you do. Unfortunately, I don't really like coffee.
I remember that second commercial, too! Back when advertising had some soul.

Oh, boy!
First of all, I drink enough coffee for the both of us so don't give that one a second thought.
Secondly, your post about the Shamrock Shake reminds me of when they first came out a hundred years ago and I begged and begged and begged my Dad to get me one. Finally, just to shut me up, he did.
I then barfed the entire thing up. Good times, good times.
I hope you had a great St. Patty's Day!
