This weekend we celebrated my Grandpa’s 88th Birthday. That is him in the photo above. Handsome, yes? I think he looks a little like a young Russell Crowe. He’s always been a handsome man, even in his older years. Handsome and funny. Pretty great combination if you ask me. I love him dearly as you can imagine.
A couple of years ago when I was in York, England I snapped a picture of a Starbucks because that is what the Mister and I do when we travel abroad and I found this one particularly pretty. All of the blue and coppery gold accents and so on. When I returned home and was going through my pictures I nearly fell off my chair when I saw that the bottom of the building read “Hardcastle.” That is my grandpa’s last name. This picture, of course, has become really special to me. Not only is it a pretty picture but it has an even better story.
At 88, I wasn’t quite sure what to get my sweet grandpa and I thought this would be beyond perfect in a frame (Finally, printed a copy for my walls too).
How was your weekend?
Besides helping to host a party, I finished an article that I was writing, completed first round revisions for the new la la site (can’t wait for you to see it), created the board for my inspiration board (yet to be hung and plastered with inspiration) and I thought I was going to be picking up my ghost chairs (the 2 end chairs were not in stock). I’m just happy to know in the next week or two they will be new residents in my home.
Now this week
*I’m on to another large project (hope to share a bit of that tomorrow or the next day) and I have to focus focus focus.
*I think I really might be learning to braid today
*I’m mystery guest at L’s preschool (he wants me to show THIS to his classmates but I’m thinking more along the lines of reading a book).
*Hoping to sneak in into the city this weekend to see Jayne Eyre because I refuse to wait until it comes out on video, visit my sister and do a little shopping. Fingers crossed that Mr. la la will have mercy on my very pregnant soul and wish me some time to relax and enjoy a few of my favorite things.
There is a plenty more but I won’t bore you with the grocery run and so on.
Anything fun in store for you this week? I hope so!
xoxo
