100Cameras

I don’t usually post on Sundays but here I am because this is worth mentioning.  I’m joining in with other bloggers to bring awareness to a really great organization called 100cameras.  100cameras gives less fortunate children cameras to photograph life as they see it.  They can share their story and perspective.  The photographs taken are then sold.  And here is the the truly great part, 100% of the money is used to improve their quality of life and their surrounding community.

Beautiful children, beautiful photographs, people in need receiving help – this is true loveliness.

There are several other blogs joining in today for March Forth for 100cameras.

You can check out the photographs and stories of these beautiful children right here.  If you are interested in making a donation by purchasing a picture you can do so here.

The photos above were taken by Manuel from Cuba.  I was taken with his photographs and the images he chose to shoot.

Have you ever watched the documentary “Born Into Brothels”? This project reminds me a lot of this film. “Born Into Brothels” chronicles two filmmakers’ efforts to show that world of Calcutta’s red light district. The filmmakers inspired a group of children to photograph the most reluctant subjects of it. Powerful movie! You will need a box of Kleenex near you.
