Monday Mess . House&Hold

I love how the internet connects us all.  I have gotten to know Summer Robertson via Facebook and Instagram.  I saw she was writing for the House & Hold blog and than came to find out she and her husband, Danny, founded and run Fawn&Forest, House & Hold and Goodnight Green.  On top of all of that, Summer is a mom to 3 young boys, that she yes, wait for it, home schools (hello superwoman).  I am, of course, smitten with all of their online furniture goodness but I was even more impressed with her super rad learning studio, I spied on Instagram one day, for her boys.
PS- The House & Hold Blog is a new go to, for me, for instant inspiration!
This is my desk area in our learning studio (homeschool room). I’m inspired by all their imagination and projects. I don’t mind if they use stuff off my desk or leave me sweet drawings & contraptions as they often do!  And that basket under my desk? artwork, scientific plans & school work… I can’t bear to throw it away… but what to do with it?! : )

The Laundry, this week & every week. I always seem to get eaten by the laundry. With 3 small boys laundry piles up quickly & finding the time to fold & put it away before it’s a wrinkled mess is rare! I did come up with a solution that works well if i don’t get too behind: each family member has their own laundry basket & as i fold pieces i put it into the owner’s basket. Every morning each person puts away their laundry, even my 18m old (well, sort of!). This only works if i am distributing 1 load at a time, not 5. Too much stuff to put away & they freak out! Tell me about it!

The coat closet. Only because it’s crazy small & i’ve given up on it. It only stores coats & shoes so it’s not cluttery but coats & shoes do end up in a giant mound on the floor. I have the boys clean it every few months & the door shuts… so i’ve come to terms with it…!

Pretty great, yes?  I love everything about this area…because it is real, lived in and very much a loved and used space. A few things about the space:

*The fab baskets are Wood Berry Baskets from Texas Baskets

*The green chair (which I want) is from House &  Hold.

*And….If you’re wondering what a pack of matches is doing a in child’s learning studio (hah!) Summer was inspired to do this sort of projectwith her boys. Fun!

So lovelies, I’m curious.  Do any of you home school and have a learning studio or classroom within your home?  Tell us more!

P. S.  You can see more Monday Mess right here.

Haha! The matches were actually the first thing I noticed. Cute project, though. I like that the mess is still quite organized. Things can be organized and messy at the same time, right?

@Miz. November, Totally….and that is why I love this series…because I think when we look at our own messes they can be so bothersome but to others there is beauty and even organization in view!

What a great looking mess ;) Love that it’s a learning studio, too…and that CHAIR. I want! BTW, I was homeschooled, and plan on homeschooling, eventually:)

Some people are just super humans. I can’t believe she home-schools her 3 sons! Love her “learning studio”….and that chair.
