Ok, so you really want to know what Blogshop is like, right???

Well, It’s… nothing less of awesome.  I’m sure you expected me to say that.  I expected me to say that, but it’s just the truth.  I had high expectations friends, and I am happy to report there was no let down.  I only wish I could have gone sooner.

Truth be told, I’ve wasted hours upon hours trying to do collages in programs like Pages and Power Point (should I even admit this), resize in Gimp and edit my photos in iPhoto (I know this is really sad but it’s true).  Photoshop has been a long time coming for me.  Everything I’ve been trying or wanting to learn was covered and taught at Blogshop in a very simple, yet creative and thought out way.  I loved the style of teaching, the hands on practice and the readily available help.  I asked a lot of questions (like maybe too many) and Bri and Angela, kindly, walked me through each thing that stumped me every time I needed un-stumping.

Now, while you probably already know how talented Bri and Angela are, (I mean, lets be honest, they are pretty brilliant at what they do) what you might not know is that these ladies are just as great at communicating and teaching others the many things they’ve learned along the way.  And, I have to say that, I find it pretty amazing that they are willing to share their tips, tricks of trade and knowledge with anyone and everyone that comes to learn.  However, there is no doubt that they really enjoy, more likely love, what they do and they are enthusiastic about teaching and helping others grow into their very own style to create new and beautiful things.

My head is a little spinny with things like layers, barreling, masking, gradients and so on.  But it’s a happy spinny.

You should know, I’m afraid I will no longer be staying up until 2 am to blog because I will now, likely, be up until 3.  What I am happy to tell you is that, I’m saying, “Goodbye, Gimp, goodbye Pages, I’m leaving you for Photoshop.  He is much more sophisticated and treats me so much better.  Thanks for the memories, they are not so great.”

So . . . if you are thinking about going to Blogshop, stop thinking and just go.  I highly,  recommend it.  It is a good investment.  No, actually, it’s a great investment.

Oh, and yes, it was super fun, the space was rad, the food was fab, the swag was sweet and my classmates were cool!

PS – I should also tell you that, I attended the first Blogshop Video class too, which was equally great and pretty rad (more about that later).
