Monday Mess . Noelle Ann

You’ve, likely, heard me talk of Noelle, of Noelle Ann Photography, before.  She is the talented photographer who took our family photos last year.  Noelle is a friend of a friend and I am so glad we are now friends.  I love Noelle’s work as a photographer and her creative spirit.  I have a feeling that is she lived closer we might be up to all kinds of creative projects.  My favorite photos of Noelle’s are ones that she takes on her travels and I swear every time I look at her pictures from Paris and the Pacific Northwest I have a strong urge to jump on a plane and  just go.

We are heading on vacation soon, so this week my plan is to clean the whole house (all 825 square feet of it, therefore not a huge challenge) so that it is nice and tidy when we get home. I can’t stand going on vacation and then coming home to a messy house ! Living in such a small space and having a home office can be a huge challenge because there is no room to put stuff. But since I despise clutter, our lack of space tends to keep me a bit more organized. My number one rule is…if I don’t use it/wear it, get rid of it. Even as a little girl, I was the nerdy one with the clean school desk and perfectly organized school box. So…I tend to do pretty well with cleaning up the clutter.

The mess on our dresser. Always. Our room is so small, we have no where to put stuff. So it ends up on the dresser, and that’s alright with me. I think it gives it character :)

That is such a great quote, isn’t it?

So what about you and your dresser?  Mine, ahem, is a lot messier than Noelle’s.  I have books and magazines piled high, jewelry, a gift bag (from my birthday) full of paints and paint brushes and bowl of seashells.  I definitely need to edit it down.

P.S. Noelle took some recent photos of me (the new ones on the blog) and tomorrow I’ll be sharing some pictures from the photo shoot…so check back.

I’m sorry, but I just have to say that these Monday Messes are getting less and less “messy”. As a matter of fact, they don’t look messy at all!

Well, one thing that I’m learning is that mess is def different (and looks different) for everyone. To a super organized, minimilist type a few strewn things might feel like mess or clutter to them. And with others clutter and piles is part of their “look” and life. Mess, and the perception of, comes in all shapes, sizes and varieties. Mine, personally, happen to be of the bigger variety.

Thanks for the feature, Trina! And I concur. To a neat freak such as myself, any mess or item out of place is a big enough mess for me. I can only handle so much :)
