I’m happy to bring you a bit of a glamorous mess by way of Christine from Bijou and Boheme. I’ve been reading Christine’s blog for a few years now and am always captivated by her gorgeous style. Christine is always redecorating this or that and let me tell you the girl knows how to decorate. I’m always taken by the attention to detail and how fast she can turn a room around (I’m kind of envious of this). Christine’s lastest project was her daughter Scarlett’s room and I seriously would like to move right into this dreamy room myself. But besides her decorating, designing and blogging Christine also paints. Her shop is called Wink of Pink and yes, there is a good dose of pink in her perfectly abstract paintings. And now for the mess . . .
Lately, when it comes to mess in my house, it’s almost always got something to do with artwork. Because I use my kitchen for painting, the island is often a casualty of war as it were;) One of these days, I’d love to come up with some sort of solution…like a little nook that’s completely devoted to all things creative…a studio of sorts. For now, this is what I’m dealing with…
The combination of an insatiable love for artwork and a desire to keep my own shop supplied with new pieces, has left my house almost over-run with paintings. Though I’m not one to love any kind of clutter, I definitely make an exception for art and am completely OK with stacking, leaning, and/or hanging pieces so that they somehow all have a place…
I sometimes get caught up in an endless search for pretty and am constantly discovering new trinkets I think I want/need…it’s times like these when I try to just really sit back and soak in the simple things that already fill my life with beauty…a small gold dish with a pair of sunglasses, a bouquet of sweetly fragrant flowers, or a freshly completed painting…these are the things that always manage to put a smile on my face…

I have to say I love any kind of mess that is made while creating something. That to me, is certainly a beautiful mess. Tell me, if you paint, craft, or make anything of any sort, are you neat about it or do things get a bit messy? I’ve been wanting to paint a bit more but the idea of spreading out in the kitchen has always held me back but maybe it just won’t anymore.

I’m an arts student and my apartment is a gigantic mess after completing a project. I’ve just come to accept by the end of my school week my apartment will be a war zone of papers and art supplies. Then I clean it and get it ready for the next disaster haha
