Monday Mess . Design Conundrum

Happy Monday lovelies.  Today I’m so excited to have Maia, of Design Conundrum, here sharing a bit of her mess.  Not only is Maia a graphic designer and blogger but she is also the art director at Rue Magazine.  Maia has a really great eye and is fantastic at what she does.  And speaking of “does,” one other she does and does well is, Pinterest.  Maia has over a million followers.  Clearly she is a  curator of beautiful things.  You can read Maia’s  blog here and check out her Pinterest boards here.

The bookshelf by my desk has turned into a little bit of a dumping ground for all my knick knacks and random papers. It has also turned into the spot I put my nail polish for some reason. To start getting organized here, it would help to move the nail care products into the bathroom or the vanity in my bedroom. Also I need to spend a little time organizing all the papers and mail. After that voila! perfectly clean shelf :)

I like having tons of pictures on my fridge, sometimes when I see perfectly styled kitchens I think mine probably looks cluttered in comparison, but when I’m cooking I love seeing pictures of my hubby or old birthday cards from my mom, it just makes me smile.

And what about you?  What kinds of messes do you have going on this week?  My house is a mess and I have 15 people coming into town on Tuesday.  Oh well.  Real life happens here.  And speaking of Maia’s mess…. I love her fridge collection don’t you?  Do you collect pictures, cards and such on your fridge or do you like to leave it clean?

My fridge has had the same two postcards since before I got married. One says “Mrs. Bomblatt decides to dedicate the rest of her life to the promotion of birth control” and of course Mrs. Bomblatt is surrounded by children. The second has a very happy woman proclaiming “There’s nothing like a good lay to start the day.” They have always been part of the landscape so to speak-kids never noticed them- although I do remember a couple of my son’s high school friends pausing in front of the fridge, reading and getting a BIG grin.

we’ve got piles of freshly washed and folded clothes sitting on the couch since we are procrastinating putting them away…and it makes our pup so happy to flop through the piles that i like to leave them around a bit. weird?? and lovely snapshots of maia’s home.
