wear (wish i was)

wish-i-was-wearing-

this outfit is really speaking to me.  perhaps, because it is simple and traditional.  or, probably, because it reminds me of my mom.  i’m 10, freckle faced and full of life.  i’ve just jumped off my bike and run in the house right before the sun sets, and there is my mom.  graceful and gorgeous, standing in the kitchen wearing something like this.  tiny waist included.  brown locks, twisty sky skirt, leather belt, effortless green button up, great sunglasses and a welcome dose of femininity.  i’m feeling it.  almost as much as i’m feeling the wind in my hair as i cruise on my 10 speed, and the warm summer vaction sun kissing my face with polka dot like freckles all across my button nose and chipmunk cheeks.

what about you, lovelies, would you wear this outfit?

do you ever see images that have nothing to do with you, that somehow have everything to do with you?

I would love, love, love to wear this outfit–especially the skirt, great length. It looks so effortlessly ladylike!

The outfit looks lovely but I’m having trouble with her feet being on the wrong sides! I know she is twisting and her legs are twisted…but seriously! Looks like her legs are backwards.

oh snap – I tried on a skirt almost identical to this one today, however I am very short and the length when all the way to the floor!

It so sweet that this imagine swept you back in time to such a sweet moment, images don’t do it much for me, but smells always do. When I least expect it the briefest whiff of something can take me back years!

i totally understand the being short dilemna :) a lot of things always end up way too long on me, too. oh, smells…i think that is the highest memory sensor for sure. i’m totally with you on this and love how just out of the blue a smell of something can evoke so much emotion. xo . t

You had me at wind in your hair and 10 speed! This look is really making a come back and it’s really so elegant. I love the longer skirts. I just have to lose the thought that I may look frumpy in them. :)

10 speeds – i had a blue schwinn one and thought i was something. frumpy…doesn’t it seem like todays style is a fine line between frumpy and cool? modern shoes and maybe a relaxed t-shirt would def keep the skirt from looking frumpy. i’m always up for a little bit of elegant.
