design in the details

i mentioned the other week that i’ve been making a few updates around the house.  an accessorie here, a rug there, if you will.  while i love a good room re-do, i’m honestly the type that likes changing things as i go and at my own pace.  my eyes always go to the details so when i can add or switch a little something then i’m so happy.

one of my most favorite swap outs, recently, is my bathroom rug.  the old rug i had, was just that, really old.  it was actually a hand me down from my mom (as in it never left the house when she moved out 9 years ago).  the rug was never priority, fit the space and was neutral.  but after a few years (yes, years of being discount with old and grungy, i finally couldn’t igonre it no longer.

i went with the wild quill rug  from lu lu and georiga and i’m in love with it.  it took me a good week to get used to a deeper color and some pattern, but now i wouldn’t have it any other way.  and bonus, the soft, lush texture is amazing.  our feet are so happy.  i love it now, but come winter, i know i’m going to love it even more.

i’ve always wanted a proper moroccan pouf.  haven’t you?  and, are you surprised with what color i went with?  yes, white (although i love this dark tan one too).

the kenza moroccan pouf is looking pretty good in my living room.  it’s such a verstile piece that i’m sure i’ll be moving from room to room (aren’t those the best kind?).

if you are up for a little updating yourself lu lu and georgia is offering la la lovely readers a 20% discount, valid through september 10th.

p.s. can’t wait to show you more of my living room in the next few weeks, but for now here are some other rooms in my house.

I looove the rug you went with! What an unexpected choice for a bathroom. I decorate like you – not great at whole room overhauls but I’m constantly tweaking and changing things as I find them. Sometimes I wish I was the decorate from top to bottom sort of girl though since it makes for some dramatic changes!

thank you! it is really a fun rug for any room and super cozy – i’m a fan :)
yes, i’ve always decorated that way. the past few years i’ve been doing rooms at a time, with projects and brands i’ve worked with…but that is probably the only way i would have ever completed a entire room at one time. it is kind of cool to have a room completed, i will say. but, i’m sure i’ll be editing and adding to those rooms even. our homes are living relfections of us, so i think that is the way it should be! xo . t
