I’m house crushing, currently, on this old Dutch farm in Workum in the north of The Netherlands. I loved the look of this worn, warm, modern space the minute I layed eyes on it, and to find out it was in Holland made me love it all the more. Lately, Holland has been hollering my name. Sometimes, I seem to fall in love with places before I’ve ever been to visit and this is one (It happened that way with England for me). Maybe it has something to do with being part Dutch, or maybe just that my siblings loved it there and my friend told me it’s like the land of fairies with all the flowers and the bike bells ringing.
Anyhow, there is just something about this home that says…home. Come in, get cozy, lets share a cup of coffee (or tea) with some toast (chocolate sprinkle toast to be precise).

I’ve always loved the idea of baskets as a light fixture. And, a long table that life is lived at … the best.
What makes a house homey to you? I’d love to know.
