Lovelies . . . needing any last-minute gifts? Check out my Last Minute Books to Give List!
I love giving books and receiving them. Every year my kids get one book in the mix of presents, even the one(s) that say they don’t like reading! I love to give books that inspire. And the best part is you can order, from your phone and have them delivered in two days’ time. Although, if you want to go to the bookstore, then I’m all for that–long live brick and mortar bookstores!
Here is my list. Click on the image, to do a quick order.
BOOKS TO GIVE
01 / LA LA LOVELY
Shameless plug, I know. But, I promise the imagery and art within makes La La Lovely a beautiful gift book. It’s pretty to look through and to display, but the writing will also encourage and inspire. For girlfriends, sisters, mothers, daughters, and anyone who needs to find hope, a new beginning, and beauty in their everyday.
Currently, the book is half price . . . which is a steal for a four-color book.
I’m also offering a gift with purchase. E-mail me: trina@lalalovelythings.com with a copy of your receipt and I will send you a print from the book.
02/ THE JANE AUSTEN COLLECTION
For the fiction lover. I can’t seem to own enough copies of Austen’s books. Especially the really pretty variety. This set is so lovely.
What is your favorite Austen book?
I love Emma!
03 / THE LITTLE BOOK OF HYGGE: DANISH SECRETS TO HAPPY LIVING
I’ve spent a lot of time studying and working on my mental and emotional health the past year, thus I’m always intrigued by the habits and lifestyle of happy people–especially happy cultures.
I also am very drawn to the concept of Hygge (which I wrote about in La La Lovely). At best, in English, it translates to cozy–which leaves much wanting. It’s a feeling. Moments with friends or family. An excellent meal. A candle-lit home. For the Danish, it is a lifestyle.
I’m all about adding more Hygge to my home and life. This little gift book, which is a fun and quick read, is a favorite of mine. A book, I re-visit each and every grey winter. The illustrations are so lovely, too.
04 / BLUE ZONES KITCHEN: 100 RECIPES TO LIVE TO 100
For the foodie in your life (or the person who likes to collect cook books, like me).
This cookbook is super hot right now (as in it’s sold out on Amazon). It’s on my wish list. It’s basically 100 recipes to live to 100. Blue Zones are areas in the world where people live much longer. I’m always fascinated (as you can see) by other cultures and what works for them. If people in these “blue zones” are living longer lives than we should pay attention to their lifestyle.
Hint…mostly plant-based food, movement (not living a sedentary lifestyle) and community.
05 / THE HIDDEN LIFE OF TREES
My sister got me this book last year. I’m obsessed with trees and now I’m obsessed with books. The photographs are stunning. The information is utterly fascinating.
For anyone who loves nature, photography, trees, beautiful coffee table books.
06 / THE BOOK OF GENESIS: FIRSTFRUITS (THE PASSION TRANSLATION)
The Passion Translation of the Bible has truly changed my life. Not all books have been translated, but whenever a new one releases I order it. I’m particularly eager to get my hands on Genesis–the beginning–all about our Artist, Creator God.
You can also get a leather-bound Passion Translation of the New Testament books (that have been translated), which also includes Psalms, Proverbs, and Song of Songs (Psalms and Song of Songs have particularly had an impact on my emotional healing). I love my leather-bound copy.
07 / RESTORATION HOUSE
For the one who loves design books.
I don’t have a copy, but this one is on my wish list. I love following Kennesha on Instagram.
Restoration House is all about “Rediscovering the heart of your home and your story.”
08 / GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS 2020
For the kids.
All the kids have always loved The Guinness World Record books! It’s certainly a favorite in our house.
09 / CHIEF INSPECTOR ARMAND GAMACHE SERIES
For the fiction and mystery lover.
I love a good mystery. I’ve especially been enjoying Louise Penny’s Inspector Gamache series. Set in an idyllic French- Canadian village, it’s just all-around charming (who knew crime-solving could be?). The plot is usually sound and the story is not gruesome–which is a win, for me. The first book in the series is entitled Still Life.
What books have you loved in 2019?
What books are you giving this year?
I’d love to hear!
