Do you get a good night’s sleep?
I found one online.
Not spending time online, that is counter intuitive to sleep. Trust me. I spent a good four-ish years up into the wee hours blogging between checking on my wee little ones. With two babies, eighteen months apart, I figured I’d just have to catch up on sleep a few years later. Sleep was a scarcity, and my bed was the holy grail of a haven that was in the other room and yet just out of reach. The bags under my eyes tell that tale.
These days, no babies are waking, but backs are hurting. An ache here, a toss and turn there. And, we have a nice mattress. A marshmallow, cloud like mattress that just wasn’t working for us.
So, naturally, we started looking at mattresses online. It seemed like a foreign concept, but a strangely familiar one. I shop for shoes, decorations and food online, why not sleep?
We came across many sites that offered a bed in a box. When the UPS man comes to drop the book you ordered on Amazon, he can also deliver your mattress in a box rolled up like sushi. Just unroll and enjoy.
But, I wasn’t so sure about that, so I kept on scrolling and came to a full stop when I found Loom and Leaf. A brand who makes American crafted, luxury memory foam beds at an affordable price. I was intrigued. I’ve slept on memory foam before and slept well. I wanted to know more.
What I found was that Loom and Leaf’s mattress offers a very natural product. All of their high quality foam is bio based and sourced in the USA, the quilted mattress cover is made from organic cotton, and the flame retardant used is made from plant-based natural thistle. Using natural materials that are sourced in the US is really important to me.
At half the price of TempurPedic, and with a 75-day home trial there isn’t much to loose. And, we were excited about the prospect of not loosing anymore sleep.
So we ordered a mattress online, and
I’m happy to report that we are LOVING our Loom and Leaf memory foam mattress. We’ve been sleeping on it over a month and we have both been sleeping so well. Our sleep has truly improved. My husbands back felt better within days and I notice that I sleep much more sound and feel more rested when I wake up each morning.
Years ago we ordered a pillow top which didn’t work for my husband. The company exchanged it for a firmer mattress and I cried because it felt like I was sleeping on the floor (I was pregnant, so crying over a mattress was probable). We went back to the pillow top and that is what led to years of back pain for my husband.
We opted to go with their Relaxed Firm option as it is not too hard or too soft. My hubby prefers firm and I like soft. We found that this is a comfort level we are both happy with. It’s dense, and slowly molds to contour you and it is soft enough, while still giving support.
The other thing I should tell you about Loom and Leaf is that they have excellent customer service. I don’t know about you, but I feel like good customer service, these days, is an absolute luxury. You can chat with a customer service rep online or on the phone if you have questions. And, every customer receives a call after they have purchased to go over their order, give delivery expectations, double check that your measurements are right for your foundation, (another, plus is that they offer foundations for their mattress should you need one), and to simply say thank you. They are so friendly at Loom and Leaf, I was even able to speak with the President of the Company to learn even more about their memory foam mattress and their business model.
If you are in the market for a mattress and are interested in a natural option then these extra details about their product are very beneficial:
-Because of Loom and Leaf’s online business model they are able to offer their product at a fraction of the cost of other memory foam brands and they have far less of a carbon foot print.
-They don’t shrink wrap their mattresses, so the small amount of off gassing is already done before leave the supplier and manufacturer.
-All of their foam is sourced in the USA, and they have the highest standards for health and safety. Foams are bio based and emit less greenhouse gasses.
-The cooling gel is medical grade. And the mattress offers breathable channels.
If you are in need of a better nights sleep, here are a few tips . . .
-Turn your screens off an hour before bed
-Read
-Do something that relaxes you, like yoga
-Drink a chamomile or sleepy time tea
-Take a warm bath
-Diffuse an essential oil like lavender
-Keep a consistent routine before bed
And…..try a Loom and Leaf Mattress, if you are needing to upgrade or need to find a better sleeping solution. The benefits of a good night’s sleep are innumerable.
