adams & august daybed

adams & august daybed

i am all about little corners or happy spots, as i like to call them.  and, my happy spot now happens to be in our family room thanks to my custom made day bed by adams and august.

it’s so great, i thought it deserved its own post.  i wanted a piece that could be versatile and ultimately cozy.  the piece nestled up to the bookshelves instantly turned our corner into a reading nook.  but don’t think us to brainy.  we also push the piece around (since its on casters) and cozy up on it for movie night.  and, since it is actually a day bed it works great for an extra bed when guests are here (like this week)!

while i was busy dreaming up ways to stack and and pile blankets to make the piece soft, squidy and princes and the peay, jason of adams and august was busy working on all of the gorgeous details like the pretty circles on the edge of the piece.

i couldn’t be happier with my daybed.  it’s fits our style and life style perfectly.

you can see more of adams & august work here + if anyone is intrested you can purchase the same model here.

tell me, do you have a happy spot in your home?  i’d love to hear about it.

p.s. you can see the daybed in action on our video.

That’s one cozy spot. Enjoy it! Maybe with a book and a cup of tea.

Love this daybed and thinking I might have to order one. What really makes it perfect, is the way you layered the blankets, and throws. Would you mind sharing your sources. Also, what did you use as the mattress?

you should!!! i love it….and it worked great this past weekend when we had company. i’m all about multi-purpose. and, i feel like it is one of those pieces that could work in several rooms, if i want to move it around, you know? ok, the blankets….. the mattress is just a little $70 one from ikea. they have another one that is about half the size that i also wanted to layer and will probably add on at some point. i was def going for a layered princess and the pea feel. i have twin striped duvet (with a down comforter) that i got at ikea (can’t find it on the website). one quilt i purchased at potterybarn 15 years ago and the top blue floral quilt i picked up at a flea market. the plaid throw is from ikea
