i love makeup, but i don’t like wearing a lot of makeup. or shall i say, i don’t like to look like i wear a lot of makeup. there are a few products that i, now (at my age), consider a daily necessity. mascara being one of them. tinted moisturizer, bronzer, mascara and lip gloss are on my everyday list. a little bit of each of them can go a very long way.
do you remember wanting to wear mascara as a kid? lip gloss was no big deal and kind of a given, but when you were allowed to wear mascara than you were officially allowed to wear makeup. do you remember what age? i think it was 9th grade for me (this is a current conversation in our house right now, actually). my young mascara of choice was maybelline water proof.
these days i wear mascara because my eyes are always looking a bit tired, come morning time. if you have kids, or just stay up way too late, like me, than you probably can relate. with the help of an eyelash curler and a good mascara, full eyelashes and bright eyes are a sure possibility.
and, while I’d like to wish that my lashes looked like the lovely above, they simply don’t….so i get by with a little help from my favorite mascaras. if you are looking for a great curl (as pictured), one of my favorite tricks is to heat my eyelash curler with the blow dryer, for a few seconds (make sure to test the temperature on your hand first), and then curl my eyelashes before applying mascara. this trick really opens the eyes up and is a great base before applying makeup. the other must is to simply buy a good product.

Mascara is definitely at the top of my beauty regime. I live by it ;) eager to try out your picks. When it comes to drugstore finds, L’Oreal Voluminous is an all-time favorite of mine. I’m also an advocate of primer and a good lash curler.

ooh, i’ve heard that is a good one. one of my fave eye lash curlers is the laura mercier one. but, ultimately i always go back to a cover girl one and heat it with my blow dryer. xo . t

They’re Real by benefit is my all-time fave. My mother in law used to sell Avon and got me hooked on their moisturizing eye makeup remover, which works really well taking it off.

#5 is the one I’m currently using. I tried a Lancombe but it was kind of flaky. Maybelline is always a good bet. I wasn’t allowed to wear makeup until grade 9 and then my father made it very clear that he thought I looked ‘sneaky’ LOL. I’ve never really worn much makeup but I do love mascara.

that is hilarious, “sneaky” … i keep finding my girl sneaking mascara on the weekends :) i think 9th grade is reasonable…i think that was when it was for me too or when i wanted to wear makeup…maybe a little cover up and lipgloss in 8th grade…. xo . t

I am a makeup lover, too and spend way too much time watching Youtube beauty videos! My favorite mascara is Lancome Doll Lashes. Doirshow is good, but so far nothing makes my eyes look as good as Lancome. Other must tries: Tarte and L’Oreal Miss Manga.
