fave friday

happy friday.  i’ve been trying to get things back in order this week after our #lalaandgrove decorating extravaganza (will be posting the makeover + video in the next 2 weeks).  still not quite caught up, but i don’t know if i’ll ever be.  when one things gets done, another thing comes undone.  you know the drill, yes?

tomorrow Luke is turning 8.  i’m feeling a little forlorn about 8.  i mean, that is 2 away from 10.  i’m trying to stuff the semi-sadness and focus on the sweet, as in cake.  candy cake to be exact.  i’ll be making one these tomorrow.  somehow luke is the only one who has managed to have a tradition like this and the same type of cake every year.  what can i say, the kid knows what he likes.  especially when sweets are involved.

what does your weekend look like, lovelies?  sneak in a nap for me.  i’m holding out for next weekend!

did you join in on yesterday’s conversation on hard days?  we have a great discussion going on.

and, if you are looking for a little design inspiration this weekend :

i also write for euro style lighting + this week’s post is all about designing a modern kids reading nook (it’s a fun one).

and . . . a bounty of baskets under $50 (really cute ones) over on houzz if your into organizing.

01 /  this is going in my recipe box.
02 /  can you believe domino is back?  are you as excited as me?
03 /  i’m loving this moodboard, which has very similar tones to my new family room.
04 / i’d like to stay here and wonder here.  clearly i need to visit this city.
05 /  do YOU dress up for halloween?  i don’t, but i like these ideas.  #1 would really impress my boys.
06 / i’m ready to take on a new chili recipe this year.
