The trees are telling me something. They are dancing about in the breeze, happily content in the climate, donning a new amber complexion. Why . . . just this morning, I awoke to see a party of honey-hued foliage dancing off a branch, spinning to the ground.
Change is not my strong suit (even as it pertains to the seasons), therefore I find that “Welcome” is far better than “Goodbye.”
Today, I’m welcoming Autumn with all things COZY.
a few ways to incorporate cozy in the cooler months
01 / Blankets, wraps and scarves
Basically, anything I can cocoon myself in. The more blankets the better (la la love the fleece blanket pictured above).
02 / Fire
It can be as dramatic as a wood burning fireplace or as simple as a few candles flickering on the table or near the bathtub (this is forever my favorite candle and I, must also, admit that I’m a fan of the LED flameless candles. I love when mine automatically come on, each night, at dusk).
03 / Warm Drinks
Tea. Coffee. Hot Chocolate. Cider. You get the picture. I refill my cup several times a day. And, at the moment, I love this vegan nutty coconut hot chocolate recipe. for an afternoon treat. I’m really intrigued by the Ember mug that keeps your drink at the perfect temperature. Anyone have one? Thinking of adding it to my Christmas wish list, since I’m always re-heating my coffee and tea.
04 / Cuddly Clothes
When the temps get cooler I layer up. A chunky sweater, a teddy jacket, warm boots, maybe even lined leggings. I also should tell you that I have what I call a “sweater robe.” It’s basically the sweater I drape on, a la Mr. Rogers style, when I get home. I wore last year’s sweater out and thus just purchased this affordable chenille cardigan to replace it. I’m also a big believer in owning at least one pair of fuzzy jammies.
So there you have it. A few ways to incorporate cozy and welcome Autumn.
What are your favorite ways to cozy up your home and wardrobe?
Speaking of cozying up your home, this new book: Cozy Minimalist Home: More Style, Less Stuff is a great resource. I can’t wait to spend time lingering over this book this weekend and you better believe I’ll be in my sweater robe with a cup of tea in hand.
