Cupcakes are always a treat. The above pictures are from Sweet Mandy B’s in Chicago. If you are ever in the area I highly recommend a visit. The shop is nostalgic and the cupcakes are heavenly. The colors alone are a treat for the eyes and the smell is enough for a sugar high. I have to say that the their frosting is the absolute best butter cream I have tasted. Not too heavy but just right.
For at home cupcakes try Barefoot Contessa’s Coconut Cupcake & Cream Cheese Frosting Mix. They definitely take the cake!
P.S. In England cupcakes are known as fairy cakes. Doesn’t that sound so enchanting. I’m definitely calling them fairy cakes from now on.
