3 Darling DIYs

Book Bin #DIY

I’ve rounded up 3 darling DIYs that have caught my eye, recently.  Honestly, I’m not really even sure if one qualifies as DIY because it only requires paper and scissors, but it’s an idea I really wanted to share and one I’m going to try in my home.

But, first things first . . .

When I first saw this book bin I wondered where I could buy it.  And, lo and behold someone made it!  I’m always amazed when people make such gorgeous DIY pieces.  This lined mid-century book bin was made by This Little Street.  I’m so glad I happened upon this blog because it’s super bright and cheery and filled to the brim with darling DIYs

Next, could be called a DIY or also known as an . . .

Ikea Hack.

Moon Lamp Ikea Hack

I love how Mommo Design turned her Ikea Fado lamp in to a darling Mr. Moon bedside lamp.  She also took the same night light and constructed a Miffy lamp that is darling and looks like a project that is simple enough to do with your little one.  If love a good IKEA hack, I sure do, then Mommo Design has some good ones, here.

Darling way to encourage your kids

And, here is the non-DIY DIY.  I should just call it the thing I want to do.  The paper heart idea.  I saw this photo on a Design Sponge Home Tour awhile back, and saved it.  I assumed it was on the door of child’s room and I thought it would be fun to put a heart on each of my children’s doors with their names and to add encouraging words throughout the month.  Perhaps different characteristics or character traits.  Ones that I see in them already and ones that they are developing.  Kids, well people in general, are so focused on what they are not or how they are not measuring up, why not let them visually see, everyday, who they are and who they are becoming.  I want a heart on my door, too!

Have you tackled any DIY’s lately or seen any that you’d like to try?

Our easy yarn wall art DIY is a favorite and here are some other fun things to make too.
